![]() Then she used the dead body as floating shelter for 3 weeks, eating the flesh of the reaper and using its fat to warm up to stay alive. ![]() The reaper Marguerit killed was attacking the 2nd underwater Degasi base in SN1. But if killing Leviathans is meaningless, why give me 3 or 4 PDAs telling the story of Marg killing a leviathan?! And I killed all 3 of them and apparently it's just useless lore. Because of the way Subnautica tells a story, I expected this to be a hint on what I have to do. Originally posted by therapy:What would I expect them to drop? I don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ know, the PDA told me about Marg killing a Leviathan because she wanted what was in it, without telling what it actually is. And they are a major annoyance exploring the Crystal Caves. You point my nose on how it was important to kill a Leviathan just before introducing Leviathans and then it turns out it's completely meaningless. This is bad game design, principle of "Chekov's gun" and all that. What would I expect them to drop? I don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ know, the PDA told me about Marg killing a Leviathan because she wanted what was in it, without telling what it actually is. And apparently I even missed some other important spot in the caves too so I'll have to explore them more, and I don't want to dodge 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Leviathans while exploring. So I decided to kill them so that won't happen again. As I said, I left my PRAWN outside of a chamber not knowing any better, and while I was inside the Leviathans destroyed it and I was forced to die because my Seatruck was too far away. Well, there are 3 (or 4 apparently) of them in the lowest end-game cave and they sure are annoying. The only reason to kill a leviathan is to say you've killed a leviathan, otherwise just sneak past it since it's easier and less annoying to do. How is it bad game design? What would you expect to drop from killing it? Maybe it can crap itself as it dies and you can collect the poop for some reason. And then I kill a Leviathan only to find 3 more, and they drop nothing of value anyway. I actually expected something special to happen cause the one PDA said "well that's what happens if what you want is inside the creature" or something along the way. Regarding the killing - kind of a moot point when like 4 PDAs of Marg deal with killing a Leviathan just before meeting Leviathans ingame. I really don't like magic respawning for special creatures like that so I hope it was just a 4th one. Had the same thing happen, but after I disposed of the 4th one I never seen one again.Īlright, I'll try to kill the 4th then and hope it sticks.
